Winter Concert 2010
December 4 @ 7.30pm and December 5 @ 3.00pm (Matinée) in the Whitworth Hall, Manchester University
This Winter, the Manchester University Chorus presents Haydn’s Creation, accompanied by the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra. Considered by many as Haydn’s masterwork, the Creation will be preceded by a pre-concert performance and talk by conductor Robert Houssart.

Following the success of their December concerts, the University of Manchester Chorus return to the Whitworth Hall to perform an evening of choral masterpieces accompanied by the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra. Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass written in his later years, showcases both the Slavonic identity and power of nature which Verdi’s Te Deum was considered by the composer to be his greatest composition.

Following their sell-out performance at the Bridgewater Hall the University of Manchester Chorus and Symphony Orchestra return to the Whitworth Hall for their first concert under their new conductor Robert Houssart. With repertoire from Vaughan Williams, Tavener and Maw, this promises to be a varied evening of music with soloists including Roderick Williams.
