About the Chorus
The University of Manchester Chorus was founded in 1936 as the official choral society of the University. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength performing a huge range of great works from choral repertoire in its Christmas and spring concerts. Under its present conductor, Marcus Farnsworth (who is also a distinguished young baritone), University Chorus has become one of the best choirs in the region.
University Chorus is none auditioning which means whatever your ability or past experience you are welcome to join. Membership is open to the public as well as university members. Please see our 'Joining' page for more details.
The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and with breaks during rehearsals, there is always time to meet new people and catch up with friends. The University Chorus aims to be all inclusive and as well as singing we aim to have fun so please come and join us!
